The Medicated Child

The issue of the medicated child is a face-to-face one for me. My immature woman was diagnosed in the third grade with ADD. We knew she had problems concentrating and riveting yet had no hyperactivity. We were told that in girls ADD usually presented without the hyperactivity but with inadequacy of focus and periods of daydreaming or checking out. We started with a therapist and it was recommended that she be medicated and we promptly saw a difference. It helped with her focus at schooltime and in truth pointed out some other issues that we real werent aw ar were echt issues. Her moods stabilized and she had less crying spells and body fluid tantrums. This was a young girl who to most e preciseone seemed perfectly normal, but a very low dose of a medication helped her tremendously.
